AmCare Ambulance Service ... on the Web |
Vermont's Premier Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service for more than 30 Years, AmCare Ambulance Service was founded in 1988. We are the regional ambulance and paramedic service, providing 9-1-1 and non-emergency ambulance service for the area, which includes the City of St. Albans, and the Towns of St. Albans, Fairfield, Georgia, and Sheldon, Vermont. AmCare is licensed at the Paramedic level. We provide multiple, staffed ALS units and 24/7 staffed paramedic units to our communities, and we also provide back-up ambulance coverage and advanced care intercept services to neighboring volunteer squads. With 6 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and more than 4,000 responses annually, we are the largest Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider in Franklin County. We are the area's only career ambulance service, and we respond to more calls each year than all other county EMS agencies combined. This, along with our many years of patient critical care and transport experience, and our career EMS staff, allows us to provide unequalled service to our customers. AmCare specializes in providing local and long distance patient transport service, with advanced-level licensed personnel on every crew. All ALS crewmembers are more than 21 years old and must pass Motor Vehicle and Criminal Record background checks. All of our EMS providers are licensed by the State of Vermont at or above the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level, are experienced pre-hospital EMS providers, and have completed emergency vehicle operator training. All crewmembers are also certified in National Incident Management System ("NIMS") levels IS-00100, IS-00200, IS-00700, and IS-00800, and have completed Hazardous Materials Awareness Level training. We brought Paramedic care to Franklin County, we have provided Paramedic service to our community since 2012, and we have full-time Paramedic staffing 24 hours a day. We are also a Paramedic Field Internship Training site affiliated with both The New England EMS Institute and The National Medical Education & Training Center. All 6 ambulances are paramedic-equipped and have radio telemetry. We pioneered ambulance integrated mobile data access in Northwestern Vermont, and all ambulances are equipped with Mobile Computer Data Terminals with Vermont Enhanced 9-1-1 ("E9-1-1") data point mapping software and secure electronic patient medical record software with wireless access. We provide non-emergency and critical care patient transports throughout the Northeast, and we arrange bed-to-bed air medical transport throughout the US and Canada. We also provide contract ambulance stand-by and discreet picture car service for media and film production and special events throughout Vermont. AmCare is regularly involved in local community emergency planning as an active member of the Vermont Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) District #4, the St. Albans Emergency Management Committee, the St. Albans Area School Public Safety Committee, the Franklin Northwest Supervisory Union School Safety Planning Committee, and the Franklin County Dispatch Advisory Committee. We are also an active member of the FEMA national ambulance Disaster Response Network, and we maintain readiness to deploy assets to federal disasters. In November of 2012, we deployed a Paramedic Unit to the Atlantic coast in response to an interstate Emergency Management Assistance Compact ("EMAC") request from the State of New Jersey, in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. During this deployment, Our Paramedic crew provided primary 9-1-1 emergency coverage to New Jersey communities as a member of "EMS Strike Team X-Ray". In September of 2018, we were activated and deployed a Paramedic crew to the mid/south-Atlantic region as part of the FEMA response to Hurricane Florence. They were initially posted at Fort Hill in Bowling Green, Virginia as a member of FEMA "Strike Team VA9." They were then mobilized to Spartanburg, South Carolina, whew they were designated as the team leader for FEMA "Strike Team SC40." Locally owned and operated, for more than 31 years, AmCare Ambulance Service has been committed to providing the highest quality emergency medical care and patient transport services to Vermont and the Northeast.
Our trained, professional staff are committed to caring for you ..... when you need it most!
